As usual, my baking starts from discovering an easy recipe. This time this recipe didn't require any kneading (wow, imagine that). Found this recipe from Peony's blog (which I frequent because I love her bentos) and was quite impressed with how EASY it was. 'Mix and Dump' are my favourite kind of recipes :) Just need to wait overnight for yummy fresh bread. Needless to say, I quickly put everything into action ASAP.
I also made garlic and rosemary focacia. Texture wise, it was very Q-Q. Unfortunately my family didn't like it (think they kind-na pampered with soft-type of bread). Anyway, I wallop it accompanied with chilli con care.
Not satisfied with the earlier experience, I decided to try another recipe. Could be a cross between a recipe from Happyhomebaker or my breadmachine recipe book (can't remember liaow!!). This time I mixed in the chopped garlic instead of sprinkling the top as I think it tends to get burnt easily.
Very easy recipes, especially if you own a bread machine. Don't own one yet? Wait for sale and just grab one. Brand-wise I think they all work the same. My only gripe with my sunbeam is that I cut on/off and re-start as I like. Must wait until it cools down before re-starting...can almost drive one crazy with the "Error" sign!! Ha ha...but other than that, I have no complains *sayang, sayang*
Actually, my bread maker was sitting in its box for 4 years ++ before I decided to take it out for use. More interestingly, my first use was to make kaya! Then it was pineapple jam. Ha ha... these days, not only humans are required to be multi-tasking but also machines!! Wonders never ceases.
Here is another picture - was focacia crazy that week, made like twice in a row!! MP likes the coarse salt cos he thinks its 'sugar'!! Give up already trying to correct him!! :x
Side note - Bread still stick to the pan even though greased it well. Probably best to line it with Glad bake for fuss free removal and also avoid damaging the precious baking pan!!
