But since it was raining (really wish could sleep in a little longer if you know what I mean), wanted to brighten the otherwise dull start to the day with a lots of colours!!! For the bento – Chicken jerky (aka bak wah) sandwich, some cereal bites, cookies, cucumber slices and local fruit we call duku langsat (scientific name is Lansium Domesticum).
Fingers felt all sappy from removing the skin off the fruit :)
Bento #254
Another ‘plating bento’ (er, if there is such a thing) – image from hp so apologise it’s a little off. Anyway, since its ‘monster-month’, decided on a monstrous face but seem to turn into a silly one instead, not so scary after all – hmmmp….should have gone to monster school ya?! Lol. In the plate is cucumber sticks (for hair), onigri rice balls (for eyes – used fried shallots and fried anchovies for the smaller details), carrots (for the cheeks), some peaches (forehead), stir fried baby spinach (for nose) and deep fried pieces of meat (for the mouth or lower part of the face)! Actually except for the hair, eyes and nose the rest of the food is actually……if you haven’t figured it out…..is a sweet and sour pork dish, hence the tomato sauce all over!!
