Bentos # 170-174

Bento #174

Breakfast bento – A simple 3-tier jam sandwich (the container is deeper so the normal 2 slices of bread was a little shallow - either that or the bread slices has shrunk!) with a pikachu cheese motif, strawberry and sliced pears. The cheese was quite difficult to handle due to our warmer climate. Recommend some prior preparation first, ie. getting the picture ready etc.

On another note, I would like to advise other bento-ers that if you pack cheese, best to use an insulated bag with a cold pack otherwise the cheese becomes a little messy and melted - not a pleasing sight except on pizza, pasta or toasted bread!

Bento #173

Lunch bento – Rice with some pumpkin, broccoli, fish ball, fried chicken and ladies fingers. See what a little bear baran (aka food divider) can do - adds a dimension of appeal to the food (erm, probably expect more reactions from a girl than a boy?)

Bento #172

J’s snack bento – Another pair of triangle duos…this time Ultraman combo. Added some bits of pineapple to the alfalfa sprouts to give it some added sweetness. Yes, not quite tired of the classic cheese and crackers combination yet. Hm, wondering how to add in a glass of red wine and booze this set into a super deluxe bento! Welcome any suggestions ;)

Bento #171

Breakfast bento – Some jam sandwiches, cereal and fresh pineapples.
Thinking of submitting this family of chicks instead, still undecided. Haha...

Bento #170

Dinner bento – Rice with some stewed pork, oven baked nuggets, cucumber and carrot sticks.
Love the cute bear furikake container. MP had a fun time sprinkling & shaking the sprinkles out - good to have a container so can control the amount to be consumed. Must say that furikake sprinkles almost always wins hands down over any slow or fussy eater.

Aiseh! These are CUTESY! Are you spending more minutes for preparation time or are you a wizard already?!!!

Hi Emily, it really depends on what I am making and how much prep is involved. Planning ahead is definitely important. Some days I AM WONDERWOMAN and others, I think I get too absorb in the details! Btw, hope you will continue to post your bentos (unless u post them somewhere else now)?

Yaya, you are right about the cheese! Really have to keep it cool at all time.
I like that untraman, very creative.

Wow! My boy will trade mummies for that Pikachu and Ultraman. Better don't let him see this, or he'll up his expectations. *_*
