CNY cookies Part I –Choc chip cookies

Chinese New Year is fast approaching. Haven’t done any baking yet *stress stress*

No lar, not really. ;p

This year we decided not to kill over-extend ourselves by competing with the stores to churn out endless bottles of cookies to give away. We are still baking but only for our own household and sharing the ‘extras’!!

In past years, I get overly crazy excited and will be baking racks of varieties. This year, decided to revisit and stick to just a few old favourites.

Even though this cookie technically is not a traditional CNY cookie but is a favourite with M. Since CNY is a time to indulge, might as well surround ourselves with treats we like and really enjoy.

Since CNY is just slightly over a week away, told myself to better start SOON!!!

There are so many chocolate chip cookie recipes and versions available. Discovered Anna Olson and have since stopped our mad choc-chip hunt. I’ve twigged the recipe a little since we prefer our cookie not painfully sweet yet crunchy and bursting full of chocolate!

What's your favourite choc chip cookie recipe??

I really enjoy your posting since I didn't bake my own cookies for CNY :) How many types of cookies are you planning to bake for CNY?

Lia Chen, m planning a handful (ie 5 types) but who knows, if I get the baking bug I might be tempted to do more!! Need to grab more containers tmrw. Its ok not to bake anything really, after a while its more like a cookie exchange galore, ha ha
