Fabulous time of the year as leaves start growing and covering stark naked branches.
There's definitely more sunshine and day light seems longer, edging aside the cold dull winter partner.
Sometimes 'spring' comes a little early, sometimes its late. But it'll somehow eventually arrive.
This year its seems to have slept in a bit more with more wet, dull, overcast and cold days instead.
Coming straight from a sunny hot climate, the drastic change in temperature was IMMEDIATE.
Had forgotten how cold, dull and deary (not to mention TEMPERAMENTAL) crazy Melbourne weather can be!!
On my first night, freezing in my PJs and even with layers of thick doona and covers,
suddenly related with people...
suddenly related with people...
...who avoid showering everyday;
....who just want to snug up deeper into the warm cozy bed;
...who 'hibernate' not wanting to go out or do anything (because its bl**** cold outside);
...who have the tendency to gain weight;
....who get winter blues.
Going to the toilet can be a cold shuddering experience - even with the heater fan switched on!! haha
Anyhow, managed to get a couple of good days - well actually only one proper sunny day - during our trip.
psst...had to climb into someones garden to get this shot - hope they didn't mind as I'm actually trying to appreciate them to the fullest!! Lolz
Lots of cherry blossoms.
Magnolias are in bloom too.
Another Magnolia tree variety.
There's something about daisy beaming cheerfully in the sun that just perks me up.
Can you guess what this is???...its rosemary.
I've only ever seen and used the leaves so this was a nice surprise. Not to mention they were growing wild in the middle of the street island.
Was informed that the flowers are even more fragrant than the leaves!! So if you have the chance, try using both the flowers and the leaves in your cooking.

SO jealous!! I love spring!! We are entering in Fall and I am in denial. Not ready to let go of summer, my favorite season, yet!
Hey Sheri, i love spring too but a slighty brighter and warmer spring would be good. Tend to prefer spring and autum, not so hot I think is the main reason :)
