Actually to be fair, must comment that I'd probably only managed to see/visit a very small & specific side of Bahrain but nonetheless, just sharing some miscellaneous pictures taken. Pity really and as my colleague puts it....an absolute CRIME that I didn't manage to go shopping for branded wear and stuff!! Oh well, maybe next time.
Bahrain World Trade Centre
- notice the propellers (there are 3 of them) which are actually wind turbines to generate electricity.

Picture of one of the many palace gates.

May not look much in the daytime but at night when its lighted up, the place is transformed into a pretty place. The entire street @ Al Manama is lined up with rows of up-market restaurants offering different cuisine ranging from Western International, Chinese, French, Thai, Indian, etc.

Managed to take this shot at
Géant Hypermarket before I was almost 'locked down' by the store security who by the way came sprinting up at me - apparently not allowed to take pictures....they think I may be a spy from their competitors!!! *

Fresh sweet dates.
Colleague of mine said that it taste best cold from the freezer with a nice strong cup of coffee!!
Sounds like a great idea ya?

Sunset picture....a little hazey because of mild 'sand storm'.

Wondering what's this???
hahaha....its
Lor Mai Kei (aka Chicken Rice) cooked by our office site canteen cook from India.
Its pretty tasty actually. Too bad no sambal otherwise would have been perfect.

The fried rice was even tastier!! :)

My favourite shot....random picture taken outside my hotel.

Do you know what this is???
While waiting for my luggage at the airport, suddenly the conveyor belt was covered a sea of these orange & white bags - curiosity got the better of me and I asked a lady what were in these large plastic containers?
I was told they are ZamZam water -
holy water. Want to know more, read

Come to realize from this visit that I definitely prefer a place with LOTS of greenery and trees!
Thank goodness it was a short visit.
