@Cheras

There are 2 places I rarely venture (except maybe on a Sunday or public holiday) even though it boasts many good eateries. They are Subang Jaya and Cheras.

Perhaps I am unfamiliar with the area and fear getting LOST!! Also, traffic in these areas can get pretty bad with all the haphazard construction currently going on and so, if can AVOID, I avoid.

Over the weekend, DH and I had some things to do in Cheras.

We decided to have an early lunch at our favourite vinegar pork knuckle stall (It gets pretty busy during lunch times). Sorry, I don't even know the name of the stall except that it has this signboard (see below) and opposite 7-eleven behind Phoenix Plaza on Jalan 144A or Jalan 1, Taman Len Sen.

The ambiance?? Truthfully, there is none (not one of those places to linger - just 'EAT & GO' type) but the place is fairly decent and serves pretty good meats with rice. They have roast chicken, steam chicken, roast pork, BBQ pork, stewed vinegar pork knuckle, braised pork with yam (woo tau kow yoke), stewed pork (hakka char yoke - I think they serve this dish) and assorted vegetables.

Btw, soup is FOC and to enjoy it, you just have to 'layan-sendiri' (self service) from the huge pot and accompanying large scoop!

Top - roast pork.
Bottom - BBQ pork.

Stewed vinegar pork knuckle - very shiok down to the very LAST drop with plenty of 'umph' (aka kick) from the juices of old ginger used in the cooking!!

*slurp, slurp, slu...r......p!!!*
Opps...erm, I'm one of those people who just enjoys savouring the 'soup' or sauce from this dish!!!
Fortunately DH also enjoys the meat.
