Honey Buns

The food pictures taken by HHB are always captivating, perhaps she has a natural flare for photography unlike me :(. I'm always struggling for angles, light, backdrop, etc.

Anyway, when I saw the recipe for honey buns, I just knew what would be on my next list of bakes. Even more encouraging since the recipe is pretty straightforward and simple.

I must confess I am not fond of honey. Even though it is sweet and I do adore sweet things, but somehow I can't say the same with honey. Perhaps it was a bad childhood experience with a poor tasting honey, I can't recall? Hm....

Well, even though I am not a honey person, I have plenty of happy bees in my house!

I made a smaller batch and ended up with 8 small buns.

I immediately regretted not making the full recipe as the baked honey smell was pure heaven, even for a non-honey person like me!! Left me buzzing around, waiting impatiently for the buns to cool down for a taste. Lolz!

The buns were great. Soft, light and fluffy with a hint of honey.

Wondering whether it will pair better with some kaya or red bean fillings???
