Cock & Bull 888

Second on my "MUST EAT LIST"!

Vietnamese food is superb in Melbourne especially more so since many Vietnamese migrants have settled in Australia.

Popular areas for good Vietnamese food in Melbourne are Richmond, Springvale and Footscray.....that's also where majority of Vietnamese people seem to reside, hence more choice in Vietnamese shops, markets and restaurants.

But Box Hill was the most convenient for me.

Again, think its the quality of beef they get in Australia that make the pho taste so good!! THUMBS UP.

Had my pho fix at Cock & Bull - yes, no cock or bull, that's the name of the shop!! haha

552 Station Street, Box Hill Victoria

The usual condiments of a Vietnamese noodle shop - lots of bean sprouts, slice of lemon, some basil or mint leaves, dipping fish sauce (for spring rolls or broken rice) and extra chilli.

Sliced rare beef and tendon pho.
I rarely have tendon but this was meltingly good! slurp...!!

Broken rice with fried chicken.

Another shot of the pho.

Fried spring rolls are great too, eaten with fresh lettuce.

Indulgence Cafe

80, Stockland the Pines, 181 Reynolds Road Victoria

When the weather is cold, wet and dreary - the only logical thing to do is stay indoors!

Although having breakfast or brunch is a nice way to relax and vege out too.

....and that's what we did, catching up with a friend, the Aussie way of lepakking, haha....over a cappucino, flat white, latte, espresso...etc

but er, we had more than just coffee/tea of course!!

Coincidentally we both zoomed in on the egg benedicts and hollandaise bearnaise sauce with spinach and smoked trout. Yum, it was as good as it sounds!! haha

Mine on a muffin bread.

E's on spelt bread.

Scrambled eggs and spelt bread for K.

Overall, it was a great place especially if you have children who are allergic to normal cow milk as soy or goat milk is available. As you've noticed they've also got spelt bread too which is low in gluten, good for people who are Celiacs or have allergy to common wheat!
